Many parts of most properties have areas with flat roofs and whereas they have been problematic in previous years, modern technologies have made huge improvements.
There are 4 key types of flat roof that Ramsgate Roofing are able to install. The process of laying each of these roofs is quite similar.
The process is to completely strip the roof and then redeck it. Once we have laid the resin base, we lay the matting followed by another layer of resin. Then once we have laid the top coat, we deal with all the trims for edges.
Here we have an option to strip the current roof or to lay over the existing roofing and we would discuss these options with you before we start. We lay liquid and then lay a fleece before laying another liquid layer. As we are dealing with liquid, it is self-terminating and takes itself to the edges. Then we add any necessary trims for edges.
This is effectively one giant piece of rubber - or in some cases more than one piece for very large flat roofs. We use contact adhesive to fit the rubber to the roof and then use a variety of trims for the edges.
This is a traditional approach to flat roofing. In a similar manner to the other methods above, we strip the current roof and use the current decking if sound. If it’s not fit-for-purpose, we would have to redeck. We would always try and discuss these options with you before we start but in some cases we would not know until we start the work. Then we start to lay the top cover which we would torch in place as we roll the felt out.
We do understand that you are not going to know the best flat roof solution for you but we will promise to give you best advice. We promise that.
